VPNRice for Windows
VPNRice for Windows protects your whole PC, not just one browser. It is a desktop app for Windows 10 and Windows 11 on 64-bit (x64) processors that sits in the system tray, connects at startup if you want it to, and gives gamers a dedicated Game mode.
Version 0.0.36 · Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit (x64)

Why VPNRice on Windows
Game mode
Game mode sends only the traffic for supported game servers through the VPN and leaves everything else on your normal connection. While it is on, the app uses WireGuard and pauses ad blocking and the leak guard, and it tells you so.
Choose which apps use the VPN
App filtering lets you decide which programs go through VPNRice. Keep your browser protected while a work VPN client or a local file sync uses your direct connection.
Starts with Windows
Turn on auto-connect and VPNRice starts with Windows and connects before you open your browser. The tray icon shows the status at a glance and lets you connect or disconnect in one click.
Updates itself
The app checks for new versions and installs them for you, so you keep getting fixes without downloading the installer again.

Protocols on Windows
- Auto (default) — chooses between RiceGuardX and WireGuard for you.
- WireGuard — a modern, open-source VPN protocol with a small code base and current cryptography (Curve25519, ChaCha20-Poly1305).
- RiceGuardX — an encrypted connection over TCP port 443 (VLESS with REALITY), useful on networks that restrict UDP.
Frequently asked questions
Which versions of Windows are supported?
Windows 10 and Windows 11 on 64-bit (x64) PCs. ARM-based Windows PCs and 32-bit Windows are not supported at the moment.
Which protocols are available on Windows?
WireGuard and RiceGuardX, plus Auto, which chooses for you. RiceGuard is not offered in the Windows app.
What exactly does Game mode do?
It splits the tunnel: only connections to the IP ranges of supported game servers use the VPN. Because of that, Game mode uses WireGuard and switches off ad blocking and the leak guard while it is active.
Do I need administrator rights?
Yes, once, during installation. Windows needs it to add the virtual network adapter. After that the app runs from the tray as normal.
How do I update the Windows app?
The app updates itself when a new version is released. You can also download the latest installer from this page at any time; it installs over the existing version.
How do I uninstall VPNRice?
Open Settings, then Apps, find VPNRice in the list and choose Uninstall. Disconnect the VPN first so your normal connection is restored straight away.
Is the Windows app free?
Yes, it uses the same Free and Premium plans as the mobile apps. Sign in with your account to use Premium on your PC.
