VPNRice for Firefox

The VPNRice add-on for Firefox routes your browsing through a VPNRice server straight from the toolbar. It is listed on Firefox Add-ons, built for Firefox's own proxy interface rather than ported from another browser, and runs on Firefox 142 or later for desktop.

Why VPNRice on Firefox

  • Firefox-native proxy handling

The add-on decides request by request where traffic goes, using Firefox's proxy API. That makes the skip and use lists precise, and local addresses always stay direct.

  • Choose which sites go through VPNRice

Keep your bank or a local site on your direct connection with the skip list, or send only selected sites through VPNRice with the use list.

  • Ad blocking

Turn on ad blocking in the add-on to stop known ad and tracker requests in Firefox. Availability depends on your plan.

  • Pairs with Firefox's privacy settings

Combine the add-on with Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection and HTTPS-Only Mode for a browser that shares less about you with every site you visit.

Protocols on Firefox

  • Browser proxy — sends your browser’s traffic through a VPNRice server, so websites see the server’s IP address. Sites you open over HTTPS stay encrypted end to end. Other apps on the device are not covered.

Frequently asked questions

Which Firefox version do I need?

Firefox 142 or later on desktop (Windows, macOS and Linux). Firefox updates itself by default, so most people already have a supported version.

Does the add-on protect my whole computer?

No. It only routes Firefox's traffic. Other apps use your normal connection. For whole-device protection on a PC, use the Windows app.

How does the add-on handle my traffic?

Firefox sends your browsing through a VPNRice server, so websites see the server's IP address instead of yours. Sites you open over HTTPS stay encrypted end to end; the add-on does not create a system VPN tunnel.

Does it work in private windows?

Yes, once you allow it. Open the add-ons manager, select VPNRice and set Run in Private Windows to Allow.

Why does Firefox ask me to sign in to a proxy?

The add-on supplies the proxy credentials automatically. If you ever see a login prompt, disconnect and connect again in the add-on, or update Firefox and the add-on to the latest version.

Can I use VPNRice on Firefox for Android?

Use the VPNRice Android app instead. It protects every app on your phone, including Firefox.
